Here we go again!

Well it has been a minute since I have posted.  This time I will keep the story going.  I will have double mastectomy in one month.  Not the kind of news anyone wants to hear or face but this is real life.   First denial, then oh well here we go again, then reality.   One beautiful aspect that is coming out of it all is the full on support I am getting from women who I do not know and are sharing their journey with me.   One really values life and the importance of the smallest simple pleasures in life.  I have been looking at videos from YouTube and the brave women who show you what they look like and what to expect is oh so helpful.  Makes it more real to me.  I wonder if I can be this brave. We shall see.  I have gone a decade dealing with cancer and having a double mastectomy is a new chapter of my life and new journey to say goodbye.  It is always caught early and for this I am very grateful.  Again-positive attitude, exercise, eating all the right stuff, and as my son would say "a grip load of peeps" will keep a sista' going........and the beat goes on.    Until next time.......Peace Out!

A New Diet for Life

I lost 20 points in 2016.  Although I have gained it all back, at least it took 2 years for this to happen, I am on a mission to loose and keep it of forever. To me, this is called dieting for life.  I am doing this mainly because i know it is healthier for me and besides, the less I weigh the better I feel.  For starters, I am eating more veggies, fruits, and replacing one meal with a protein smoothie I create myself.  So far 3 pounds lighter and feeling pretty good.   In my research to be healthier, I have come across some recipes I would l like to share.  Here is one that is from the Mayo Clinic Diet and just in time for a cozy rainy night.  Gingery Chicken Noodle Soup: Ingredients 3 ounces dried soba noodles 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 large yellow onion 1 tablespoon peeled and minced fresh ginger 1 carrot, peeled and finely chopped 1 clove garlic 4 cups chicken stock 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce. 1 pound skinles...

Today was kind of hard....At times the fact that these are coming out is really scary even though I know it will save my life.  Tomorrow I will see how I feel.   Sometimes a good nights sleep is all a girl needs.
